Short description Reasonable Accommodation Process -
The provision of co-designed reasonable accommodation process (Assignment & On-boarding) Detailed description The Public Appointments Service (PAS), through publicjobs.ie, is the centralised provider of recruitment services to the civil service, key public sector organisations like the HSE, An Garda Siochana as well as to over 150 public bodies in Ireland. We believe that a thriving, inclusive public service is energised by employees from all sectors of society. PAS have a key role in supporting our clients to build public sector workspaces that embrace inclusion and reflect the growing diversity in wider Irish society. This leads to greater innovation, more productive workplaces and responsive and inclusive policies, programmes and services for all of Irelands communities.
Several recent ED&I focused diagnostic reviews have highlighted key issues, pain points and challenges in our recruitment process with respect to disabled candidates and the provision of reasonable accommodations, (the supports put in place to aid disabled candidates to perform to the best of their ability during the recruitment process).
In December 2022 the ED&I team applied for, and were successful in being awarded funding, from the Public Sector Innovation Fund for a project on Co-Designed Reasonable Accommodation Process (Assignment & Onboarding). The project will use person-centred universal and creative design thinking to transform the approach to, and experience of, reasonable accommodations for candidates with disabilities during the assignment and onboarding stages of the recruitment process.
This tender seeks an external expert in co-designing universally accessible processes and products to lead this project. An advisory board with suitable people with knowledge of reasonable accommodations and universal/creative design and a key stakeholder (clients, candidates and PAS staff) will also support this project.
