Quotation for the Provision of Public Analyst, Agriculture Analyst and Testing Service
Sandwell MBC Citizen and Consumer Protection Business and Consumer - Trading Standards is responsible for the assessment of Food and Standards including the description, composition and labelling of food and feed.
The Council require the appointment of a Public Analyst and Agriculture Analyst to provide the Services for a period of 3 years from 1st April 2025 to 31st March 2028.
The Council is required to appoint a Public Analyst and Agriculture Analyst who possess prescribed qualifications so that samples can be analysed or examined under the appropriate legislation.
Samples of food may include food ingredients, food contact materials, packaged and unpackaged foods, drink (including alcohol) and food from catering establishments.
Samples of feed may include feed materials, feed additives, waste food entering the feed chain, complementary and complete non-medicated feeds for livestock and pet foods.
The position is a statutory personal appointment required of all Local Authorities by virtue of the Food Safety Act 1990 (food samples) and the Agriculture Act 1970 (animal feeding stuffs and fertiliser samples).
