Description
Title: SEND Commissioning Lead
Contract Type: Temporary
Hours: 37 Hours

Day Rate ?600+
Insert Brief Job Summary:
You will be expected to describe the role within a few bullet points
o To lead on the development, implementation, monitoring and review of services for SEND and Alternative Provision
o To ensure that service development and redesign is undertaken to improve outcomes for children and young people in Sandwell
o To ensure that provision utilised by Sandwell for SEND/AP is of a good standard and meets the needs of children and young people and support the commissioning of complex placements
o To lead on the development of SEND commissioning plans and strategies, working with colleagues from across Children's Services, the Council and partners.
o To support colleagues across the partnerships and strategic commissioning team to ensure that services are commissioned that support SEND
o Support the development of specialist SEND places across Sandwell and lead of the management of the SEND capital grant
You will be expected to select up to five essential requirements for the role, insert these below
o Knowledge of developments impacting on the functions of local authorities related to SEND, and the interrelationships between agencies.
o Knowledge of current relevant legislation and statutory duties, responsibilities and best practice in the field of SEND and current local ,regional and national pressures relating to the field of SEND
o Experience of joint collaborative working with professionals from a range of agencies, including co-ordinating inputs from a range of professional sources.
o Proven experience of commissioning services, developing services, strategies in a SEND, health or social care context
o Evidence of success in change management and developing innovative solutions to complex problems.
o Experience of financial management and complex negotiations.
